I usually use Realistic Leveling. I tried XP once, and found it just incentivized me to spam book readings and farm monsters, which wasn't much fun to me. That being said, I was also using vanilla oblivion's level scaling system, so I imagine the XP rewards from enemies would be a lot more fun if they didn't scale along with you. Or maybe I didn't focus enough on quests or something?

Idk, I just remember feeling like 'how do I gain any XP.' All the time. As for switching on an existing save, idk. All I know is it's one of Realistic Leveling's advertised features. I would doubt you can do it with XP. I'll give you one i don't see mentioned much:.
