Ok I must be dumb or something. So I downloaded the aoccs.net compat patch. Made a copy of the steam directory, installed patch to it and then installed AoC Hegemony. Once the installation completed it gave me an error saying the aoc file could not be found. I try to run the shortcut for hegemony and it prompts me to locate the aoc.exe I link it to the appropriate file and the game crashes on startup. I swear I am not technically illiterate.

Modding games has never been an issue for me since the old days of diablo 2 but here I am scratching my head looking like an idiot. Could someone please help me out?:) whats the easiest way to get a copy of the appropriate version of age of conquerors, and a detailed installation guide mayhaps? So I finally got everything installed as it should be. I run the game and it goes to the AoC start splash screen! So I hit standard game to do an AI match and I get a CTD as soon as I hit start game.

Well shit I try the custom scenario that the game comes with. 13th Century Bordeiux or somesuch. The game actually launches! I go to the map.and everything is covered in fog of war / blackness no matter what, even after I gain control of units I can select with idle military button. Not to mention all over the maps in the blackness are the tiny little objective tabs floating everything.

So yeah.more trouble • • • • •.
